The Penn State Alumni AssociationWhat’s been happening: After receiving my Doctorate in "Science Naturelle" from the Sorbonne in 1967, I first worked on a postdoc at Oakridge Tenn. After several years in medical research at NYU, I changed my mind about research, went back to school and got a BS in Social Work from Hunter, in NYC. Having married during this time to Leonard Lessin, a science photographer and amateur musician, I continued in Psychiatric social work until my retirement in 1999. Len and I had a son, Daniel - who married in 1996 to Nicole Colangelo. They have two daughters: Katie, age 6 and Gwen, age 8 months. They live in Austin, TX where Dan is pursuing his doctorate in math and computers-something about alien languages (all Greek--or is that geek) to me. Leonard died in 2007 after a long illness. I continue singing in an Opera chorus, and the NYC Labor Chorus. I travel most summers to Europe and elsewhere with singing groups. I have lived in a condo loft (for 37 years) in SOHO, NYC. |
